[EARLY EVENT] Poetry at Foam

We're back with the April edition of Poetry at Foam, featuring a broad variety of rich talent.

Thanks to all who came out to last month's double feature, this month will be stellar.

Frances Garren:
Frances Garren is a poet, performer, model and visual artist from Saint Louis, Missouri. In April 2018 she published a collection of poems titled "Black Eye, Reason to Die" with local zine Bad Jacket Press after experiencing an assault by her lover. Her current projects address the confusion one experiences with regards to love, lust, morality, mortality, the questionable future and other dances back and forth between heart and mind. The candor of her writing and vibrance of her reading provoke virtue in her midst as a storm righteously inspires flowers to bloom. She is working on a second poetry collection titled, "Living is No Way to Die" which will be out later this year.

Mathew Scott Freeman:
Matthew Freeman has had seven books of poems published. He holds an MFA from the University of Missouri-St louis and heads a writers' group at the Independence Center. Much of his work deals with all his uncovered while recovering from a dual diagnosis.

Chris Ware:
Chris Ware is an award-winning spoken word artist, actor and musician. When not onstage, he works as a teaching artist, aiding children in discovering their own artistic talents. Chris, ever the community educator, also teaches computer aided design and machining (CAD/CAM) classes at the MADE in STL Maker Space, giving others the tools to create what they may. Recent credits for Chris include "Say Something, Do Something" (Metro Theatre Co, STL), "The Last Days of Judas Iscariot" (Mustard Seed Theatre, STL) "Romeo and Juliet" (Shakespeare Festival, STL).

and proudly presenting, Xander Millsap:
Xander is a Foam fixture and Cherokee Street Artist featured most prominently in the Bad Jacket zine. Xander describes his poetry as full of unique rhythms and deft wordplay.

Thanks for all the love, let's make this unique show one to remember.
And as always Foam has your beverage needs, hot cold, alcoholic, coffee'd, or sparkling.
