Lake Mary (Keeled Scales - Columbia, MO)
dronefolk // slow grass
Lake Mary is the beautiful instrumental guitar project of Chaz Prymek, who is a songwriter, sound artist, dog walker, food grower, builder, goat herder who currently works on a goat farm near Columbia, Missouri.
Keeled Scales will be releasing a 2-song EP called 'River Ceremony' on June 29, which "started as a means of reflection and processing on/of what it means to be living as a human, to have lost dear friends and family, to be a part of nature, to fall in and out of love, to find community, etc. etc. Mostly written while touring the expansive western united states. I started this song as a teenager. It wasn't until my later 20s that the piece felt complete and I could bring it to the band and end whatever chapter of my life that song was scoring."
Prymek is also in the projects Nevada Greene (Dismal Niche) and VISIT (patient sounds).
Ralph White (Austin, TX)
Ralph White has been playing music and touring now for over 40 years. In the 90s he played fiddle in the cow-punk/bluegrass band The Bad Livers. His solo music is influenced by country, blues, and Appalachian and West African folksongs. He switches between fretless banjo, fiddle, accordion, and kalimba (African thumb piano).
Ralph has played with Thurston Moore, Jandek, and Michael Hurley.
"What longtime Austinite and former Bad Liver Ralph White puts on albums and onstage is so mind-boggling and vast, it forces those of us in the description business down a treacherous path"-- Darcie Stevens, Austin Chronicle
"His solo work is possessed of a much more lonesome spark...his voice has a high, eerie quality to it...extremely psychedelic"-- David Keenan, The Wire UK
Dee Bird (St. Louis)
